Daniil Kvyat (P15): 6/10
Daniil Kvyat and his Toro Rosso team mate Pierre Gasly were evenly matched on Friday, consistently featuring on the fringes of the top ten which suggested that they were in for a strong qualifying session. Unfortunately it then started to unravel for Kvyat when his car suffered an oil leak in final practice leaving him defaulting to an older Honda power unit, while the lack of running probably contributed to him missing out on getting beyond the first round of qualifying later in the day. The race started rather better, with Kvyat gaining two spots on the first lap before falling back with an early pit stop. Later in the race he got sucked into a bad-tempered duel with Kimi Raikkonen, and while the Finn's aggressive defence overstepped the mark, Kvyat's temper didn't help things and his intemperate post-race comments about the Iceman went too far. Although he was able to continue running after the pair clashed, the STR14 was damaged and as a result he dropped to 15th place by the finish.
