The Mexican veteran was hoping for a lot better than P10 in Q3, but Ocon’s penalty moved him up a spot and he passed Hartley at the start, then undercut Gasly during the pit stop rotations. He crept up on Grosjean during the VSC period and promptly dispatched the Frenchman when the race went green, concluding his afternoon as a worthy 'best of the rest'.
