Fernando Alonso (P14): 6/10
With a lack of power and a severe aero problem, not even Fernando could slog the McLaren out of Q1. He took the fight to the pair of Williams but was driven off the track on the opening lap at the chicane by Stroll, and penalised by the stewards for cutting across the gravel and reclaiming the lost position. After a day where he was never higher than 12th, Alonso heads to Fuji where he should give his Japanese fans a thrill with a highly likely race win with Toyota in the WEC.
