Kevin Magnussen (P17): 6/10
It was a terrible weekend for Haas, but of the team's two drivers it was Kevin Magnussen who had the slightly better time of it. Not that it's saying much: he was 14th in FP1 and improved to tenth on Friday afternoon, but fell back to 15th on Saturday morning and was narrowly pipped by his team mate. He succeeded in getting through to the second round of qualifying but his session ended there, leaving him 15th on the grid. He made a solid start to the race, but by lap 10 the VF-19's well-known problems with this year's tyres once again reared their head and the Dane plummeted down the order even before his pit stop left him dead last. He was subsequently able to pick off the two Williams drivers, and his own team mate's retirement gifted him another position, but it's hard to put a gloss on a 17th place finish for a team that up till recently thought it was 'the best of the midfielders' and which now looks a long way off the boil.
