F1i's Driver Ratings for the 2019 French GP

Alexander Albon (P15): 6.5/10
It had been a pretty decent weekend for Alexander Albon, who was consistently faster than his team mate Daniil Kvyat throughout practice at the Circuit Paul Ricard. He also made it through to Q2 on Saturday afternoon, but just missed out on getting into the final top ten pole shoot-out round. Unfortunately the start of the race proved to be something of a nightmare for him, with the Toro Rosso running wide into turn 2 where it was 'boxed out', costing him five positions that he spent the rest of the afternoon trying to claw back. He did climb as high as ninth as cars ahead of him pitted, but when he made his own stop on lap 35 he lost all of those spots and found himself back in 17th place again. Some lively battles for position with Antonio Giovinazzi, Kevin Magnussen and finally Kvyat livened up the second half of the race for him but ultimately 15th will be something of a disappointment for the London-born Thai rookie.
