F1i's Driver Ratings for the 2019 Belgian GP

Daniel Ricciardo (P14): 7.5/10
It's disappointing to see Daniel Ricciardo finish outside the points, after a strong build-up for the Renault in practice and qualifying which saw him become a fixture in the top then. Particularly successful in FP3 where he was fourth fastest, he parlayed that into sixth place starting position after both he and his team mate made it through to Q3 in qualifying. But he was shaken by the death of Anthoine Hubert, and then rocked in a different way in the race itself when he was hit from behind while minding his own business navigating his way around the Verstappen/Raikkonen incident at the start. It forced him to pit, dropping him to near the back from where he tried to run the rest of the race on one set of tyres. However the damage to the R.S.19 took its toll: seventh with ten laps to go, his pace collapsed in the closing laps leaving him sadly pointless.
