The Kiwi has a knack for picking up points when no one expects him to. With a car not as developed as his team mate’s and a 25-place grid penalty, he too didn’t run in Q2. However, at the start he picked up 8 places! But his progression went no further. Only Vandoorne’s second stop put him just outside the points and with the disqualifications of Ocon and Magnussen, he scored his best result to date in F1.
