F1i's Driver Ratings for the 2019 Azerbaijan GP

George Russell (P15): 6.5/10
It was a hellish start to the weekend, all things considered, for Williams' game rookie from Kings Lynn. George Russell was feeling very under the weather heading into Baku after picking up a virus in Shanghai, which meant he was forced to cry off Thursday's media duties. And then on Friday morning, he'd no sooner headed out on track than he had the misfortune to be in the wrong place at the wrong time when a drain hole cover came loose and ripped the bottom off his car. (That said, the FW42 has been so poor since the start of the year that it's entirely possible the damage wrought might actually have improved the aerodynamics...) It meant Russell missed out on all of Friday's practice, but even with that setback he still managed to once again out-qualify his team mate by almost four tenths of a second. And unlike Robert Kubica, he didn't put it in the wall in the process. Another solid race day performance saw him once again reach the finish without any dramas, and 15th place equals his previous best result to date in Bahrain. So actually it turned out to be pretty good going for Russell in Baku after all.
