One milestone for Gutierrez as he finished his first race since 2014, and competitively given the problems he faced. With no baseline set-up data, Haas really struggled during Friday practice and Gutierrez only completed six laps due to more reliability issues. His bad luck extended to the wet FP3 which meant qualifying was his first dry lap in anger, and he started in 18th place. Drove well but lost DRS in the first half of the race, making any further progress impossible despite a late stint on supersofts.
