2016 Spanish Grand Prix - Driver ratings

Motor Racing - Formula One World Championship - Spanish Grand Prix - Race Day - Barcelona, Spain

Kimi Raikkonen - 2nd place, 18 points - 8.5/10

Raikkonen is looking more and more assured at Ferrari this year and moved second in the drivers’ standings with this result. Outqualified team-mate Sebastian Vettel despite the car not performing in qualifying, but a poor start saw him running fifth on the road - where he started - despite the Mercedes retirements. Raikkonen made steady progress to join the leading quartet and like Verstappen made his tyres last to pull off the two-stop strategy, but Ferrari’s weakest area - the final sector - was also Red Bull’s strongest, meaning he couldn’t get close enough to attack in to Turn 1.
