Daniel Ricciardo - 4th place, 12 points - 8.5/10
Ricciardo will be left wondering how this race got away from him after doing everything right in the first half of the grand prix. A stunning qualifying lap secured third on the grid and ensured he was in the box seat when the Mercedes pair took each other out. From there Ricciardo controlled the pace and didn’t look under threat from Verstappen even if he didn’t drop his team-mate. Understandably Red Bull went for the three-stop strategy in the hope fresher tyres would get the better of Vettel, but passing is notoriously difficult in Barcelona and despite a number of lunges at Turn 1 - one in particular which annoyed his former team-mate - Ricciardo couldn’t find a way past to put pressure on the leading pair.
